Faran Observatory in the Negev
The observatory is located in the Negev desert of Israel, in a region that is about 900 m above the sea level, where the night sky is cloud-free almost 80% of the time.
Among the facilities operated by research staff of the observatory, we are especially proud of the advanced Meteor Study station and the ensemble of monochrome-filtered solar telescopes.
The research team, led by Dr. Netzer Moriya, is also involved in signal-processing research projects and innovative algorithm developments for statistical image analysis.
